The founder of Sooto Warriors, Chief Dr UZOCHUKWU NKWUZOR has stressed the need for parents to instill in their children the customs and traditions of the Igbo people.

Chief NKWUZOR made his feelings known at his countryhome, UMUOGWOKA UGAH Autonomous Community, EZIAMA NTIGHA in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, during his 2024 New Yam Festival celebration, inauguration of Abia State Community Policing/Vigilante, Oha Ntigha and disbursement of school fees to over 50 pupils in Ntigha, regretted that some of the traditions of Ndi Igbo are gradually going into extinction.

The founder of Sooto Warriors while describing yam as the king of crops, explained that the event marks the beginning and end of the farming season as well as a period to appreciate God for life to celebrate a bountiful harvest.

He further disclosed that the disbursement of school fees to over 50 pupils in Ntigha is his way of giving back to his community and assisting parents in catering for the educational needs of their wards for the 2024/2025 first term academic session, adding that the inauguration of the Abia State Community Policing/Vigilante, Oha Ntigha will help in ensuring adequate protection of lives and property of the people of the area.

“What we are celebrating today is what our forefathers left for us which is our customs and traditions. It is this our rich cultural heritage that distinguishes Ndi Igbo from other tribes.”

“The disbursement of school fees for over fifty pupils in Ntigha is my little way of supporting parents in catering for the educational needs of their wards in this 2024/2025 academic session.”he said.

In his speech, the Member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, Chief Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu lauded Chief Uzochukwu Nkwuzor for upholding the age long tradition that distinguishes Ndi Igbo from other tribes and impacting lives positively, also enjoined him to sustain the tempor.

In Hon. Iheonunekwu’s words, “I commend my brother, Ezumezu for what he is doing. Security is everyone’s business and it is our duty as part of government to support what you’re doing.”

In their goodwill messages, a retired Commissioner of Police, Lagos State and Chairman, Security Council, Ubakala Clan, Eze Ebere Ubani, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Okpuala Ngwa Police Division, CSP Udoh Gabriel, the State Commandant of Abia State Community Policing/Vigilante, Chief Dr Daniel Iheadindueme, the State Administration Secretary of ACPV, Elder Enouch Ajadu among others commended the celebrant for his sterling qualities and charged the newly inaugurated ACPV officers to see their office as a call to serve.

Our correspondent reports that the event which featured the installation and decoration of Chief Dr Uzochukwu Nkwuzor as patron of Abia State Community Policing/Vigilante, goodwill messages, cultural troupes, display by masquerades also attracted the presence of the military, Police, Oha Ngwa Native Doctors, officers and men of ACPV among other notable personalities.
