The Abia State Independent Electoral Commission ABSIEC has presented a certificate of return to the 17 elected Local Government Chairmen.
Speaking while presenting the certificate of Return to them at the ABSIEC Headquarters Umuahia, the Chairman of Abia State Independent Electoral Commission, Professor George Chima, congratulated them on their successful emergency as Chairmen in the just concluded Local Government Elections.
Prof Chima, while wishing them good luck as they pilot the affairs of their Local Government Areas, said that the certificate of return is an instrument that certifies them to be inaugurated as chairmen.
He urged them to align themselves with the good work the Governor, Dr Alex Otti, is doing in the State irrespective of their party.
He also advised them to work harmoniously with their Deputies, disclosing that the commission will soon announce the names of councilors that emerged successfully at the election.
Responding on behalf of the Chairmen, the Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government Area, Pastor Dike Nwankwo, assured that they will justify the confidence reposed on them.
The Chairmen, including Innocent Uruakpa for Isiala Ngwa North, Anthony Nwaubani for Ikwuano, Okereke Eze for Arochukwu, Nnadozie Nwaogwugwu for Isiala Ngwa South, Chinedu Ekeke for Isuikwuato, Ezeanya Kalu for Ohafia.
The rest include Mr Uwabunkeonye Bassey for Bende, Sunday Afurobi for Umunneochi, Maxwell Nwadike for Obingwa, Chibunna Agara for Ukwa East, Chidi Chibunna Agu for Osisioma, Chinedu Enwereuzo for Umuahia South, Smart Iheoma for Umuahia North, Iheanacho Nwagbara for Ugwunagbo, Pastor Dike Nwankwo for Ukwa West, Timothy lheke for Aba North and Anyanwu Obialor for Aba South.
