The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Abia State, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, has called on Abia students to avoid actions that could jeopardize their aspirations in life.

Pastor Ajagba who made the call when he visited his alma mater, Anglican Grammar School, Nbawsi, in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area, stressed the importance of taking their studies more seriously.

Describing education as the bedrock of any society’s development, the Chief of Staff urged the students to remain focused on their academic pursuits in order to justify the enormous sacrifices made by their parents to see them through school.

“Am here to let you know that your future is very bright. But you have to be determined, you have to make up your mind. It is the type of friends that you have now that might be pulling you down.

“Have friends that will help you succeed, not friends that will help you fail. Any friend that you have that is not helping to sharpen your life will make you derail, so it is better you cut off from such person. Make friends with those that are serious in life.

“I want to encourage you people. I’ve seen your school, I’ve also being reading through the platform to see what the old boys are doing. I want to assure you that God will help us to make sure that this school is fully built up. I’ll join forces with the old students to make sure that this place becomes a centre of excellence.” he said.

He disclosed that Anglican Grammar School, Nbawsi, is known for excellence and has produced notable personalities across the world. He also reminded the students that they can attain any height they wish in life, emphasizing the need to aim high, study hard, and seek God’s direction and counsel when faced with confusion, in order to make the right choices and achieve their aspirations.

Responding, some of the teachers who were visibly elated to see an old student of the great citadel of learning and the current Chief of Staff to the Governor, applauded Governor Alex Otti for appointing Pastor Ajagba as his Chief of Staff and promised to continue living up to expectations.
