The Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, MOUAU, Prof Maduebibisi Iwe has officially commissioned an Ultra Modern University Guest House with the State-of-the-art-facilities and the University Microfinance Bank Mobile App with instant payments Platform (NIP).

Speaking at the University Guest House, Umudike, during the inauguration of the University Guest House and Unveiling of the MOUAU Microfinance Bank App, Professor Iwe disclosed that the hospitality facility has fifty-one rooms including, executive rooms, suites with security and 24-hour power supply.

The Vice Chancellor said with the official launching of the MOUAU Microfinance Banking Mobile App and Instant Payment Platform, customers of the Microfinance Bank can now transfer money or transact business from their comfort zones and enjoined all to patronize the two companies situated in the University.

Professor Iwe expressed confidence that the actualization of the two facilities will go a long way in boosting the Internally generated revenue of the University and commended the Managing Director MOUAU Nigeria Limited, Profesor Jude Mbanaso, his MOUAU Microfinance Bank counterpart, Dr Bashir Ogungbangbe, University Management and Staff for their ingenuity and support towards the timely realization of the projects.

In their remarks, the Managing Director MOUAU Nigeria Limited, Professor Jude Mbanaso and Managing Director MOUAU Microfinance Bank, Dr Bashir Ogungbangbe said that the main objective for citing the two projects in the University is to support the developmental investment and boost the internally generated revenue of the University.

They further disclosed that the MOUAU Guest House is well furnished and suitable for hospitality among other social activities, while the MOUAU Microfinance Bank is open for any kind of banking business transactions.

In their goodwill messages, the President Academic Staff Union of Universities, Professor Emmanuel Victor Osodeke, Dean School of Postgraduate Studies MOUAU, Professor Inya Okoro and Traditional Ruler of Umudike-Ukwu Autonomous Community, Eze Ben Oriaku commended the Vice Chancellor MOUAU, Professor Iwe and his team for putting up the gigantic edifice that will outlive subsequent administrations, add value to the University IGR and create job opportunities to unemployed Youths.

The event attracted the presence of Senate, Members of Governing Council of the University, Management and the host Communities.
