The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu has assured of Government commitment towards safeguarding lives and property of its citizens.

Engr. Emetu who stated this during a meeting with the members of the planning committee of the Aba International Trade Fair 2024 in Umuahia the state Capital, noted that Abia, as an SME Hub is safe for business and encouraged all to participate effectively during the event, holding from the 28th of October to 7th of November 2024 at the Aba Mega Mall.

The Deputy Governor also charged all security Agencies in the state to ensure adequate security at the venue of the Trade Fair as well as every other part of the state.

He further promised to provide all necessary support to the committee through the state government led by Dr. Alex Otti to enable them represent the New Abia properly.

Responding, the Chairman, planning committee and also the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Investment, Mr. Nwaka Inem while enumerating the challenges being encountered by the planning committee, pleaded with the state government to assist them adequately to enable them put in place all the needed logistics before the commencement of the event.

In an interview, the Vice President, Trade and Investment, Aba Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), Mr. Cletus Ogbonna encouraged individuals, corporate organizations among others to participate and take advantage of the opportunity to showcase their businesses and also interact with the entire world.

Our correspondent reports that the event attracted the presence of the Acting DG, Abia State Orientation Agency, Ure Abazie, Chief Security Officer to the Governor Mr. Kenneth Nwosu among others.
