The Executive Secretary, Abia State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Kalu Ulu Kalu has charged Social Mobilization Officers to be committed to their duties.

Dr. Ulu Kalu gave the charge during a Stakeholders meeting held at the Agency’s Headquarters Umuahia in preparation of the Maternal and Child Care Week that will be launched in the state today.

He noted that over eighty thousand girls between nine and fourteen years who have not been vaccinated for Human Papilloma Vaccine will be vaccinated during the campaign.

In their remarks, a Consultant Public Health Physician, Dr. Chidinma Amuzie and the State Social Mobilization Officer, Mr. Chukwudi Ukpabi enjoined the Health workers to visit the patients at home, as well as devise other means of reaching out to the people.

Contributing, a representative of Marie Stoops International, Mr. David Chukwunyere suggested the State come up with an app where data can be sent and monitored.

Speaking on behalf of other SMOs, Mrs. Nnenna Okoro pleaded that the funds for the projects be released and encouraged the health workers to show commitment to their duties.
