The Member representing Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, has charged beneficiaries of his empowerment scheme to ensure they put the equipment received to good use.
Hon. Ogah, who gave the charge at his country home, Onuaku Uturu in Isuikwuato LGA of Abia State, during the distribution of assorted empowerment tools, including cars, minibuses, tricycles, among others, as part of activities to mark his one year in the Green Chambers, said the equipment would enable them to become self-reliant and employers of labour.
The Federal lawmaker, while thanking the people of Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Federal Constituency for the overwhelming love and support given to him during and after the last general elections, assured them of his unwavering determination to continue representing them effectively as well as prioritize their welfare and interests.
Presenting his scorecard to his constituents, Hon. Ogah disclosed that he has, within the past one year at the National Assembly, sponsored numerous bills, reconstructed the Ukwunwangwu Daily Market with solar-powered streetlights, opened access roads to Ulonna North Farm Settlement to ease the transportation of farmers’ produce from the farms to the markets, and sunk solar-powered boreholes in five zones across the federal constituency, including Uturu, Isuikwuato, Isuochi, Umuchieze, and Nneato.
According to him, he has also rehabilitated the Isuikwuato General Hospital with a steady power supply, provided free community eye care medical outreach in Isuikwuato and Umunneochi, constructed a six-classroom building at Eziama Nneato Model Secondary School, distributed 1,000 seedlings of super green palm trees, awarded scholarships to 22 students at the Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Technology, Aba, registered over 154 indigent students for WAEC, and awarded scholarships to 66 youths to study at the Federal College of Agriculture, Isinwangwu, among other initiatives.
“The empowerment is to encourage my constituents to start businesses of their own, while those who already have businesses can grow them and contribute to the economic development of the federal constituency.
“My vision is that, as you are empowered today, you will become employers of labour, thereby becoming vessels of empowerment and wealth creators in the constituency.
“I want to thank you all for the overwhelming love and support shown to me during and after the last general elections, and I assure you that I will continue to fulfill my campaign promises and prioritize your interests and welfare,” said Hon. Ogah.
In their goodwill messages, the National Vice Chairman of the Labour Party South East, Hon. Ceekay Igara, and the Member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Lucky Johnson, expressed maximum satisfaction with the outstanding performance of Hon. Amobi Ogah and urged the people of Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Federal Constituency to continue supporting the federal lawmaker to enable him to continue performing optimally.
In their responses, some of the beneficiaries, including Promise Udeh, Chidozie Mba, Fabian Okeke, Chinaza Nwaoha, among others, who were visibly overjoyed, thanked Hon. Amobi Ogah for his kind gestures and reaffirmed their unalloyed support for him.
The items distributed by Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah to his constituents include cars, minibuses, mini trucks, tricycles, big motorcycles, ladies’ machines, hairdressing machines, sewing machines, grinding machines, vulcanizing machines, big generator sets, car wash pressure pump machines, bags of fertilizers, bags of rice, etc.
