The Abia State Programme Manager, Cash Transfer Unit, Mrs. Ihie Oke says the activation and distribution of debit cards to the beneficiaries of the renewed Hope Cash transfer is ongoing at Umuahia township stadium.
Speaking with our Correspondent at the venue, Mrs. Oke who is also a legal practitioner apologized to the beneficiaries over the network problems encountered in the exercise a few days ago.
She said that the cash transfer which is supported by the State government, and World Bank is aimed at empowering the poor and urged the beneficiaries to present their NIN or BVN with which they were captured earlier.
Mrs. Oke disclosed that the transfer team will visit Aba South on Sunday and urged the beneficiaries in the axis to make use of the opportunity to pick up their debt cards.
She explained that the exercise will continue till Friday 22nd of this month, explaining that the beneficiaries under the third Financial Service Providers will be contacted in due course.
