The people of Umunna Nsulu Autonomous Community, comprising Mbubo, Ubaha, and Umuosu Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, have unanimously presented their Eze-Elect, Chief Lucky Eze Onumaegbu, and Ugoeze Joyce Onumaegbu before the officials of Isiala Ngwa North LGA.
Speaking during the presentation held at the Obo-Ogu Mbubo Civic Hall, Mbubo Nsulu, in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ambassador Innocent Urukpa, expressed that he was overwhelmed by the peaceful disposition and unity exhibited by the people of Umunna Nsulu in selecting their Eze-Elect, Chief Onumaegbu. He added that such a gesture shows their commitment to the peace, progress, and development of the area.
Ambassador Urukpa, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Deacon Chima Nwosu, enjoined the people of Umunna Nsulu to extend the same support they have shown to Chief Onumaegbu, to enable him to succeed in his rulership.
The Council Boss disclosed that he is always willing and ready to receive the Eze-Elect, Chief Onumaegbu, at the Council Secretariat at Okpuala Ngwa for onward presentation to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Umuahia.
In their remarks, the Village Head of Ubaha Nsulu, Elder Nna Paul; the Councillor representing Umunna Nsulu Ward, Hon. Chief Onweremmadu Nwabuisi; and the Palace Secretary of Umunna Nsulu, Chief Charles Ogbonna, disclosed that Umunna Nsulu is made up of three compounds. They further explained that the selection of Chief Lucky Onumaegbu as their Eze-Elect was done in the spirit of equity, justice, and fair play.
They pointed out that the people will formally present the Eze-Elect to the Chairman of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ambassador Innocent Urukpa, on Friday, 22/11/2024.
Contributing, the Palace Protocol of Umunna Nsulu, Chief Chijioke Ozems; Chief Okey Ogbonna of Umuosu Nsulu; and a major stakeholder from Mbubo, Chief Eric Opah, stated that the selection of the Eze-Elect of Umunna Nsulu, Chief Onumaegbu, was done in accordance with the constitution of rotation guiding the community and congratulated him on his emergence as the Eze-Elect of Umunna Nsulu.
Responding, the Eze-Elect of Umunna Nsulu, Chief Lucky Onumaegbu, said that he was overwhelmed by the massive support and solidarity shown by the people, which led to his emergence. He assured that he would work assiduously toward the peace, unity, progress, and development of Umunna Nsulu.
Our correspondent reports that the high point of the ceremony was the official handover of the necessary chieftaincy regalia to the Eze-Elect, Chief Onumaegbu. The event also attracted the presence of the Secretary of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Mrs. Nkechi Chibueze, among other notable personalities from Isiala Ngwa North LGA.
