The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti has reiterated her commitment to promote Child Protection and development in the state.

Mrs. Otti who gave the assurance in her office when the delegates from Child Network of Nigeria paid her a courtesy visit at her office, described the well-being of Abia children as a top priority that required collective responsibility from individuals and Non-governmental Organization to ensure the safety and development of Abia Children.

Mrs. Otti further reiterated her readiness to collaborate with individuals, Agencies, Non-governmental Organizations and other Stakeholders in the Child Development Value Chain, to achieve sustainable progress, in safeguarding the rights of Abia children.

The wife of the Governor therefore called on relevant partners in the state to join hands with her office to condemn Child trafficking, gender based violence, and dehumanizing practices, affecting children and to build a safer and brighter future for Abia children.

In her speech, the Leader of the Child Protection Network Nigeria, Abia State Chapter, Ambassador Onyinyechi Nwosu, who described their group as an Organization dedicated to safe guarding the rights and well-being of children as well as preventing child abuse, gender based violence, child trafficking and exploitation.

Ambassador Nwosu further appreciated the Governor’s wife for promising to collaborate as well as support the activities of the Organization.
