The Abia State Head of Service, Dr. Ngozi Obioma, has described a former Head of Service, the Late Rev. NDEKE DIMANOCHIE as a man of wisdom, exceptional Civil Servant and seasoned administrator of integrity.
Dr Obioma who stated this at the International Conference Center, Umuahia, during a Commendation Service held in his honour, said that he served with unwavering commitment and distinction which did not only earn him the respect and admiration of the workforce but left indelible marks on the Service and State.
The Head of Service, who enumerated some of the late former Head of Service legacy circulars in the Service to include: PROMOTION TO THE POST OF DIRECTOR IN ABIA STATE PUBLIC SERVICE, and some Correspondences:, PROHIBITION OF BABY SITTING IN OFFICES DURING OFFICE HOURS BY NURSING MOTHERS as well as HAWKING IN GOVERNMENT OFFICES, assured that Civil/Public Servants will always cherish his legacies.
Speaking, the Wife of a former Governor and Senator that represented Abia Central Senatorial Zone, Mrs Mercy Orji, condoled the family of the deceased and prayed God to guide and comfort them in this challenging period.
In their contributions, a Commissioner in the Civil Service Commission, The Rev. Mrs Ifeoma Agu, and the Chairman, Council of retired Permanent Secretaries, Deacon Iheanyi Izimah, said the late Very Rev Ndeke Dimanochie was a man of humility, compassion and sociable whose tenure was characterized by unflinching commitment to excellence, innovative leadership and selfless service.
In a Homily, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands and Housing, The Rev. Ukeje Ukpabi stressed the need for the living to reflect on their lives and prepare themselves for eternity as no one knows when death will strike adding that heaven and hell are real.
The event attracted the presence of past Heads of Service, Lady Ngozi Chikwendu, Dr. Vivian Uma and Sir Onyii Wamah, as well as, the Mayor Umunneochi Local Government Council, Serving and retired Permanent Secretaries, top government functionaries, among others.
Meanwhile, the body of Rev. Ndeke Dimanochie has been laid to rest today, Friday November 22nd, 2024.
