The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has identified accountability as one of the major hallmarks of his administration.

Governor Otti, who stated this at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Ovorji District Headquarters, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, during the Ovorji Zonal Camp Meeting of the church, explained that he is on a divine mission to change the negative narratives and restore the lost glory of the state, as truly the number one state.

The Governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, reaffirmed his earlier decision not to accept any form of award or recognition until he leaves office, pointing out that his administration is focused on improving various sectors of the state’s economy, including infrastructure, access to quality healthcare, improved education, skill acquisition, youth empowerment, regular payment of workers’ salaries, and pensions, among others.

He appreciated the church for their sustained support and prayers for his administration and wished them a successful camping exercise.

In a homily, Pastor Chibueze Affios disclosed that Christ’s command to believers “to be ready” emphasizes not only the need for preparation but also the importance of living a victorious, faith-filled life each day in anticipation of His return.

In their speeches, the President of the Eastern Nigeria Conference of the SDA, Pastor Bassey Udoh, his Abia North Conference counterpart, Pastor Henry Nwankwo, and the host minister in charge of Ovorji District, Pastor Chibuike Eneogwe, explained that the theme of the camp meeting, “I’m Coming Home,” is a call to reflect on one’s spiritual journey, renew commitment, reconnect with God, and keep trusting Him for divine providence amid the harsh economic situation across the nation.
