The 2024 Aba International Trade Fair has concluded with a strong commitment to sustaining the creative, industrial, and entrepreneurial spirit of the commercial city.

Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti, who made this announcement while marking the end of the ten-day event at Aba Mega Mall, emphasized that Aba remains the pride of the Southeast, Nigeria, and the African sub-region.

He further stated that as an industrial hub, Aba has the potential to propel Africa into its next industrial and technological revolution. He also expressed appreciation for the trust, commitment, and faith exhibited by the participants during the event.

Governor Otti, represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, disclosed that the Aba International Trade Fair would now be an annual event. He also thanked the organizers and companies for their contributions, calling this year’s fair the most successful the state has hosted.

The Governor encouraged those unable to participate this year to plan for future editions, reiterating that the vision to restore the glory of Enyimba City is steadily being realized.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee and Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Commerce, Chief Nwaka Inem, explained that the event was a result of joint planning approved by Governor Otti, aimed at showcasing the human and capital potential of Aba. He affirmed that the operational standards of the Trade Fair are now firmly established.

Also speaking, the President of the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), Chief Geoffrey Uzoagbara thanked Governor Otti for his support and praised the Aba Mega Mall as the ideal venue for such events.

The closing ceremony featured the presentation of certificates to participating companies, a cultural display by the Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, and was attended by notable figures, including the immediate past Mayor of Obingwa LGA, Chief Eric Egwuibe, Aba South counterpart Mr. Uche Wogu, and other top government officials.
