Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has called on all to imbibe the spirit of thanksgiving and praise to God in order to unlock multiple blessings.

Governor Otti, who made the call at the SS Anthony and Jude Catholic Church, Umungasi Aba, during the annual harvest thanksgiving and bazaar sales of the church, described thanksgiving as a seed that yields multiple increase.

The Governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, explained that the numerous infrastructural developments being witnessed in Abia today is a result of the seed and choice Abians made by electing a credible leader to man the affairs of the state in order to change the negative narratives.

The State Chief Executive applauded the parish priest and the leadership of the church for their sustained prayers and support towards his administration and promised to continue partnering with the church in their programs.

In a homily, the parish priest in charge of SS Anthony and Jude Catholic Church Aba, Rev. Fr. Francis Onuoha, while preaching on the theme of the harvest, “Harvest of Divine Mercy,” reminded Christians that God blesses an individual so that they can be a blessing to others and pointed out that the greatest harvest is being alive to witness and celebrate the goodness of God.

In their speeches, the Parish Council Vice Chairman, Mr. Cletus Ekpoh, and the 2024 Harvest Committee Chairman of the church, Ambassador Darlington Nwokolo, while thanking God for life to witness this year’s annual harvest thanksgiving of the church, also commended Governor Otti for his administration’s remarkable impact, commitment to the welfare of Abians, and for his transformative strides in all sectors of the state’s economy.
