The Abia State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Danladi Isa has emphasized the need for police officers to be vigilant in ensuring the implementation of security strategies during this yuletide.
Mr. Isa who stated this during a strategic meeting he held with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Team Commanders at the Police Officers Mess Umuahia stressed the need for officers to prioritize the safety of residents before, during and after festivities.
The Police boss warned against unprofessional conduct, including extortion of members of the public and uncivility, and reiterated that a special monitoring team has been established to oversee and evaluate the activities of officers on duty and to apprehend any officer who engages in misconduct or tarnishes the image of the command.
Our correspondent reports that the meeting provided an opportunity for meaningful contributions and suggestions from officers, focusing on accountability, proper supervision of officers and improved methods to ensure the safety and security of the State.
