The Mayor of Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, Chief Smart Iheoma, has called for support from all to enable the people to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Chief Iheoma, who made the call during a meeting with legislators, management, and staff of Umuahia North Local Government, also assured that everyone would be included in the plans moving forward.
The Umuahia North Council boss advised the workforce to take their official duties seriously and avoid activities that could undermine their integrity as civil servants.
He revealed that all matters concerning workers’ welfare would be given top priority and expressed his administration’s commitment to an open-door policy.
In his speech, the Head of Service of Umuahia North Local Government Area, Dr. Sunday Ihedigbo, described Chief Iheoma as a God-sent leader, dedicated to serving the people.
Also speaking, the Secretary, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Umuahia North LGA, Comrade Uche Agwamba, also commended Chief Iheoma for his genuine love and care for Umuahia North workforce and assured him of their full support.
The Deputy Mayor of the Council, Mrs. Chinwe Odoemenam, the Leader of the Legislative Council, Chief Okezie Imo, the NULGE Chairman, Comrade Tochi Ihedirinwoke, and others attended the event.
