Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti says the Security architecture of the State is being rejigged to completely nip in the bud new trend of crime in some parts of the State, assuring Diasporans coming home for the Yuletide of adequate security.

Governor Otti who gave the assurance during the monthly Media Chat entitled “Governor Otti Speaks to Abians” at Government House, Umuahia, also assured that the South East Governors are collaborating to permanently address the issue of insecurity within the region.

On the new National Minimum wage, Governor Otti stated that he has since October commenced the implementation and has directed that some issues relating to consequential adjustment be resolved as soon as possible while the December and 13th month salary will be paid on or before 20th of this month.

On the report that some Permanent Secretaries and other Civil Servants earlier disengaged were yet to get their entitlements, the Governor said he has directed the Accountant General of the state to address the issue, assuring that all concerned will get what is due them.

On the proposed Abia Airport to be flagged off next week Tuesday at Nsulu, the State Chief Executive said Abia is providing the land and other logistics for smooth take off and execution.

The Governor said his administration has commenced the implementation of the recommendation of the white paper report of the visitation panel of ABSU, promising to implement all recommendations to the later as to enable the Institution stand out in the comity of Tertiary Institutions across the Country.

The State Chief Executive said he is engaging with relevant stakeholders in the Agricultural sector to entangle and revive moribund farm settlements that were privately concessioner by previous administration, disclosing that a private company is about investing about 120 million Dollars in the Palm oil value chain of the State.

Responding to the alleged extortion of commuters around the Nunya -Isuikwuato junction of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Express way, the Governor directed his Chief Security Officer to immediately investigate and report back the matter.
