The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved free train services nationwide starting from December 20th to January 6th next year to help cushion high transportation fare during the Christmas and New Year festive season.
The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris disclosed this while briefing newsmen at the end of the Council meeting, presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
President Bola Tinubu has approved free transportation nationwide ahead of the Christmas celebration.
“The Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, announced this while briefing State House correspondents shortly after the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by the President on Monday.
“He said the Federal Government will commence nationwide free train services from the 20th of December to 6th of January 2025,”.
The Information Minister also said cabinet members will embark on recess from tomorrow to resume on January 6th next year.
