The Governor of Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti, has approved the appointment of the following people as additional members of the Governing Council, Abia State University, Uturu.

A release endorsed by the Chief Press Secretary to Abia State Governor, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha names them to include;

Elelenta Nwabuisi Elele, PHD
Stanley Onyekachi Okonta
Idris Korform Wabara
Rt. Rev. Nkechi Udunma Nwosu PHD
Engr. Kalu Nto
Barr. Monday Ubani, SAN, and
Chinyere Juliet Okeziem-Nwoko

According to the release, the appointees will join other statutory members of the council who had been earlier announced to run the board of the University.

The release further notes that the appointments are with immediate effect.
