The remains of Ezinne Mary Silver Anu-Ugo Ehioguh (Nne Oha) have been laid to rest at her husband’s compound, Amankwor Mbutu, in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area.

In a homily during a funeral mass conducted by the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mbutu Ngwa, in Isiala Ngwa South LGA, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Patrick Nwaorgu, described death as a necessary end for all mortals.

Rev. Fr. Nwaorgu, while urging all not to be afraid of death, but rather to be more concerned about where they will spend eternity, reminded Christians that a day of judgment is coming when all will give account of their stewardship on earth.

The Catholic Priest attributed the longevity of the late Ezinne Ehioguh to her humility, faithfulness, love, and commitment to the things of God, and prayed that God would give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.

In a tribute, the daughter-in-law of the deceased, Chief Mrs. Rosemary Ehioguh, described the late Ezinne Mary Silver Ehioguh as a compassionate, hardworking, and God-fearing woman who instilled in her children the same values she had learned in her own upbringing, including the importance of family, integrity, peace, and faith in God.

In an interview, the chief mourner and first son of the deceased, Chief Jackson Ehioguh, described his late mother as an epitome of love and humility who derived joy in sharing whatever she had with others.

Chief Ehioguh also used the opportunity to thank the church, family, and friends who came to identify with his family and prayed that God would give them the wisdom and strength to continue to uphold the sterling qualities their late mother left behind.

Aged 103, the late Ezinne Mary Silver Ehioguh is survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.

Our correspondent reports that the funeral, which featured prayers for the Ehioguh family and condolence messages, also attracted the presence of the State Commander of Abia State Community Policing and Vigilante, Apostle Daniel Iheadindueme, traditional rulers including Eze P.N Okpanku, captains of Industry, the clergy, among other notable personalities.
