Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, says his administration has mapped out the sum of Eighteen point Nine Billion Naira to support vulnerable individuals in the state.
The Governor who stated this in his New Year broadcast disclosed that the gesture is designed to drive social protection and support of the vulnerable, adding that adequate arrangements have been made to capture the elderly in the State’s Insurance Program.
He further disclosed that the initiative will enable them have access to quality health services in all the public health facilities at a minimal financial fees, adding that the State Disability Commission will also be supported to freely cater for the social needs of Person’s Living with Disability.
The Governor assured that his administration will continue to give adequate attention to Civil Servants and Pensioners through prompt payment of salary.
Dr. Otti further disclosed that his administration will continue to adopt proactive measures to tackle insecurity in the state and wished Abians, a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
