The Wife of the Governor of Abia State, Mrs. Priscilla Otti has distributed bags of rice and a cash donation of Fifty thousand Naira each to about three hundred Nigerian Network of People Living with HIV/AIDs in Nigeria (NEPWAN), and key populations, Abia State Chapter.

Mrs. Otti who made the donation at her Office during an interaction with the delegation encouraged them to always stick to the advice of their doctors and health managers.

The Wife of the Governor further restated her commitment to advocating for the welfare and rights of the NEPWAN, and the key Populations, Abia Chapter, assuring them of her full support to ensure that they remain relevant and not discriminated against in the State.

Mrs. Otti however enjoined Abians to give inclusive support to the affected persons while jettisoning all forms of stigmatization and discrimination.

In his speech, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Enoch Uche, represented by the Director, Primary Health Care, Dr. Princess Agomoh, thanked the Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti for not only championing the initiative in the state, but for carrying people living with HIV/AIDS along and promised the Ministry’s continued support to the present administration.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Maureen Aghukwa appreciated the Governor Alex Otti led Government and thanked the Wife of the Governor for the initiative as well as lauded the survivors for coming out en masse to brainstorm on better ways to manage their health status.

The DG, ABSACA, Dr. Mrs. Uloaku Ukaegbu, the State Coordinator of NEPWAN, Madam Bekky Eze, and State Coordinator, Key Populations, Mr. Agbai Kalu, thanked the Governor’s Wife for her motherly care and kind disposition towards the vulnerable and those living with HIV/AIDS in the State and promised their unalloyed support to Government.

Also in his remarks, the State Secretary, NEPWAN, Mr. Nwambo Collins appreciated Dr. Otti and his Wife Mrs. Priscilla, for touching the lives of Abia youths and for giving Abians new hope and called for the reduction of the stigma against those living with HIV/ AIDs in the State.
