The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Abia State, Pastor Caleb Ajagba has charged Commissioners in the Abia State Civil Service Commission to come up with laudable ideas that will help in restructuring, rebranding and repositioning Civil and Public Servants in the state to be more productive.

Pastor Ajagba who gave the charge at Government House Umuahia when he received the Commissioners in the state Civil Service Commission, stressed the need for them to remain focused and committed to achieving an efficient civil service that will serve the needs of Abians.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor while describing Civil Service as a critical machinery that government needs in executing its policies and programs, explained that Governor Alex Otti came onboard to change the negative narratives and bring about the desired change that Abians have been clamouring for.

He urged them to see their appointment as a call to serve, thrive for excellence, adopt the spirit of fairness in all their undertakings and avoid parochial interest, adding that the administration of Governor Alex Otti in the state is passionate and committed to bringing about positive reforms in the service.

Pastor Ajagba congratulated the Commissioners on their appointments, and warned them against towing the path that had left Abia in a state of underdevelopment, and assured them of government support.

Responding on behalf of her colleagues, the Commissioner 1 in the state Civil Service Commission, Mrs Ifeoma Agu said they came to familiarize themselves with the Chief of Staff to the Governor and assured that they will continue to work in line with Governor Otti’s policy thrust to bring about the needed reforms and development in the civil service.
