Following the ongoing reconstruction and expansion of Bank Road in Umuahia metropolis, motorists are hereby informed that all roads leading from Okpara Square to Government House, all the way to FMC junction will be temporarily closed to traffic from Saturday, 25th January 2025 to Sunday, 26th January 2025.
A release endorsed by the General Manager of
Umuahia Capital Development Authority, Mr Kingsley Agomoh says the temporary closure is to enable the contractors handling the project expedite action on the road, without the usual disruption from motorists.
The release advises motorists to use the following alternative route: Motorists coming from Ikot Ekpene/Bende Roads, and Umudike axis are to use Isigate/Shopright axis to connect Okpara Square.
It further regrets whatever inconveniences this may cause, we assure that the road will be open once again to the general public from Monday, 27th January 2025.
According to the release, the State Government will appreciate the maximum cooperation and understanding of members of the public.
