The Head of Service, Abia State, Mr. Benson Ojeikere has restated his commitment in placing premium on integrity as well as the welfare of Civil Servants.

Mr. Ojeikere who stated this at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia during a meeting with Permanent Secretaries, Head of the Departments and Directors, noted that the Governor, Dr Alex Otti is interested in Service that is bounded by integrity, excellence and quality service delivery.
The Head of Service pointed out that the essence of the meeting is to familiarize with them and profer ways to make the civil servants financially safe, also stressed that the State Civil Service has one of the best structures in Nigeria and called on them to remain resolute in their duties.
Mr. Ojeikere reiterated the need for them to be civil, and responsible and think outside the box to redeem their image, as corruption remains one of the factors that is killing Civil Service. He called on everyone to fight against corruption in all facets of sectors in Nigeria.
He further noted that Directors and Heads of Departments serve as critical stakeholders in piloting credible Civil Service, as the Governor, Dr Alex Otti detests corruption, dishonesty and assured that the Civil Service will complement the efforts of the State Government in the fight against corruption.
In their remarks, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands and Housing, Mr. Ukpabi Ukeje and the Director of Administration, Ministry of Petroleum, Mr. Kingsley Ibelegbu, assured that the Civil Servants will live up to expectations and expressed confidence that the meeting will give them a sense of belonging.
