Abians have been called upon to contribute their quota towards ensuring adequate Security in the State.

The State Commandant, Abia State Community Policing and Vigilante, Apostle Daniel Iheadindueme made the call in his Mgboko Okpulo country home in Obingwa Local Government Area while receiving members of the Abia State Council of Community Chiefs and Village Heads, led by the State Chairman, Chief Kingsley Egwuatu, noted that security in any organized society is a collective responsibility of all citizens.

Apostle Iheadindueme who appreciated members of Abia State Council of Community Chiefs and Village Heads for the visit, described them as indispensable in the maintenance of peace and security in various villages, assuring that he will always work with them, while urging them to make honesty, fairness and diligence their watchword in carrying out their duties.

Speaking earlier, the State Chairman, Abia State Council of Community Chiefs and Village Heads, Chief Kingsley Egwuatu, said the essence of their visit was to seek the co-operation of the Abia State Community Policing and Vigilante towards checking criminality in the hinterlands.

In his remarks a Philanthropist and BOT member of the Group, Nze Kingsley Nwaobasi, commended the State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti for the success recorded in the security of the state so far and promised to support the efforts of the group, stressing that security and Peace are pivotal to progress and development in the society.

Contributing some members of the State Council of Community Chiefs and Village Heads, including Apostle Hillary Uzoaga, Chief Casmir Nwogu, Chief Ijeoma Adindu and Elder Obimba Azubike expressed their readiness to redouble efforts towards the peace and security in their various communities and prayed God to continue to energize and protect members of the Abia State Community Policing and Vigilante for more positive results.
