The State Government says it will continue to partner Mayors of the various Local Government Areas in their programs to boost economic activities in the rural areas.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba who disclosed this during an enlarged Inaugural Town Hall Meeting of Ugwunagbo LGA organized by the Mayor of the LGA, Chief Iheanacho Wagbara, explained that progress does not just happen but takes a strong partnership between the members of the Community and Government.

Pastor Ajagba while describing the Town Hall Meeting as a well-thought-out initiative and a part of the inclusive governance agenda of the Governor Alex Otti led administration in the State, enjoined the participants to use the opportunity to come together, exchange ideas and collectively rebuild the foundation of the LGA for a brighter tomorrow.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor further lauded the Mayor of Ugwunagbo LGA and his team for the quality work they are doing in the Council and expressed optimism that they will continue to live up to expectation.

In his address, the Mayor of Ugwunagbo Local Government Area, Chief Iheanacho Wagbara while applauding Governor Alex Otti for his support to the LGA, said the Inaugural Town Hall Meeting is a gathering that symbolizes not just a meeting of like minds but a commitment to open dialogue, unity and progressive development for the LGA.

Chief Wagbara disclosed that his administration has so far facilitated the installation of forty solar powered Street Lights to illuminate the fast urbanizing Umunka axis, funded and executed the refilling and grading of roads in the ten wards of the LGA in line with his vision of improving the infrastructure, boost the local economy and ensure that essential services are accessible to all.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Pastor Joseph Enyinnaya lauded the Mayor of Ugwunagbo LGA for the initiative and enjoined all to work together as a Community united by shared goals and aspirations.

In their goodwill messages, the CEO of Tunnel End Construction Company, Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor, Chief Chidi Onyeukwu Ajaegbu, Chief Stanley Egege, the Second Deputy Chairman of Abia State Traditional Rulers Council, Eze F. O. Nwosu, Special Adviser to Governor Otti on Budget and Planning, Dr Eric Egwuibe, DG ABSAA, Mrs Victoria Dibunma among others, appreciated the Mayor of Ugwunagbo LGA, Chief Iheanacho Wagbara for remaining focus on his vision of transforming and repositioning the LGA on the part of sustainable development, also reminded the people of the area that they have the power to transform challenges into opportunities and visions into realities.

Our correspondent reports that the Town Hall Meeting which featured presentations on Health by the CEO of Hospitals Management Board, Dr Odochi Humphrey Azubuike, presentation on Education by the Dean of Legal Studies ABSU, Prof. Ezenwa Ngwakwe, on Economics by Dr Okechi Nwambuwa and Youth Empowerment by Dr Alozie Ananaba, also attracted the presence of Top Government Officials, Traditional Rulers and their wives, Ugwunagbo Stakeholders, opinion moulders, the clergy among other notable personalities.
