It was a moment of joy for the people of Oha-Osi-Eke Community in Ugwunagbo Local Government Area of Abia State as they gathered to celebrate their aged long forgotten Ikoro Dance Cultural Festival.

Speaking to Newsmen in his Palace, the Traditional Ruler of the Community, Eze Enyinnaya Williams expressed gratitude to God for his blessings upon the people of his Community and for helping him bring back the ancient cultural heritage of the Community.

Eze Williams said that on his assumption of Office he thought it wise to return the Ikoro Festival forgotten for over thirty years ago as it will help restore unity, love and harmonious relationship amongst his people.

He noted that most Youths of the Community have not witnessed Ikoro Dance before now stressing that it has no negative attachment and expressed joy that people came out enmass to partake in the Ikoro Dance assuring to make it a yearly event.

The Traditional Prime Minister of Oha-Osi-Eke Community, Mr Eze Akoma and Chief Abraham thanked God for giving them a traditional ruler that has the interest of his subjects at heart, pointing out that since Eze Williams assumed office as their traditional ruler, the Community has witnessed positive changes including the resuscitation of their Aged long forgotten Ikoro Cultural Dance.

In their separate speeches, Chinweoke Ugoala, Councilor representing Ward 1, in Ugwunagbo Local Government Area and Mr Justice Adiele, described the reinvention of Ikoro Cultural Festival as a welcome development, pointing out that the Festival will promote love and unity in the area and as well curb crime.

The Oha-Osi-Eke Community Ikoro Festival which is a three day event that starts on Orie day and ends in Nkwo day attracted the Presence of notable personalities in Ugwunagbo including the Chairman, Ugwunagbo Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Chris Ajuzieogu.
