The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Abia State, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, has charged market leaders in the state to make honesty, transparency, and accountability their watchword.

Pastor Ajagba who gave the charge while addressing traders who came to pay solidarity visit to Governor Alex Otti at Government House Umuahia, stressed the need for them to shun greed and selfish interest in all their undertakings.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor while describing Governor Alex Otti as a responsive and committed leader, reiterated the Governor’s avowed commitment to changing the negative narratives and fostering prosperity across all sectors of the state’s economy.

Responding to issues about market leadership, Pastor Ajagba disclosed that the state government has suspended changes in market leadership, pointing out that government is focused on ensuring that the right decisions are taken in line with Governor Otti’s vision of restoring sanity and boosting economic growth.

He further lauded the traders for their sustained show of love and support to the Governor Alex Otti led administration in the state and assured them that their concerns will be addressed.

In his speech earlier, the Chairman of Eziukwu Road Market Aba and President of ASMATA, Chief Aphonsus Udeigbo, while commending Governor Alex Otti for his numerous infrastructural strides across the state, explained that they came to pay solidarity visit to the Governor and to pledge their unwavering support to his administration.

Chief Udeigbo also used the opportunity to appeal to the state government to look into the leadership issue in the markets in order to restore peace and sanity in the markets.

Our correspondent reports that the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Apostle Kenneth Wiper, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Ferdinand Ekeoma among other top government officials witnessed the solidarity visit.
