In continuation of his infrastructural development agenda across Abia State, Governor Alex Otti, will tomorrow, Wednesday 12th February 2025, officially flag-off the construction of two roads on Wednesday, 12th February 2025.

A release endorsed by the State Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, says the flag-off ceremony for the first of the two roads, the 12.6km Ohanze-Ntighauzo-Obete-Umuoha-Oberete-Akirika Obu Road will be held at the Orie Agalaba Junction, in Obingwa LGA by noon.

According to the release, the road project is significant because it cuts across the two Local Government Areas of Obingwa and Ukwa East with many benefitting communities along the corridor.

The release notes that the road when completed, will promote economic activities including the evacuation of farm produce to Aba and surrounding cities.

It also says the flag-off ceremony for the second road which involves the dualization of the 5.5km Owerrinta-Umuikaa Road will be held at the Primary School Compound, Seventh Day Adventist Church, Umuikaa by 3:00pm.

The release further notes that the Owerrinta -Umuika road which signposts a gateway into Abia state, when completed, will underscore Governor Alex Otti’s unwavering commitment to delivering high quality road infrastructure that will ease transportation, improve safety and drive the socio- economic development of Abia state.

It therefore cordially invites all stakeholders, including government officials, Traditional and Religious Leaders, Party Faithfuls, Women and Youth Groups and members of the benefitting communities to the two events.

Guests are to be seated before the arrival of the Governor and his entourage.
