The Abia State House of Assembly has passed into Law H.A.B.4: The Abia State Senior Citizens Bill, 2025.

The Bill which is for a law to establish the Abia State Senior Citizens Centre to cater for the needs of Senior Citizens among others was passed into Law after scaling through the third reading on the floor of the House.

Announcing the passage, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa commended his colleagues for their contributions towards its passage, adding that when assented to, the law will be said to have come into force on the 3rd day of April, 2025.

The House received and adopted the report of its Joint Committee on Health, Trade and Commerce on the inversion of some markets in Aba by the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, as presented by the Co-chairman, Mr Emeka Obioma and committed same to its Committee of the whole.
