The Abia State government has assured landowners of the Nsulu Airport project that they will continue to receive their payments this week.

A release endorsed by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Lands & Housing/Project Coordinator, Nsulu Airport Project, Pastor Okorougo Aji, explained that payments are being made in batches following the successful completion and signing of the indemnity certificates.

The release disclosed that since payments are uploaded as bulk transactions, landowners may not receive alerts and therefore advised those who have not received their alerts to contact their banks to confirm their payments rather than wait for alerts.

It appealed to landowners who have signed their indemnity certificate and are yet to receive their payment to inform the Ministry of Lands and Housing on Friday this week.

The release further enjoined landowners who still have crops including cassava within the area designated for the airport runway to harvest their crops quickly, as contractors may not be able to spare any as they clear the runway.

It also appreciated the landowners for their continued support and understanding, and called on all stakeholders to join hands in actualizing, in record time, the landmark project which has the capacity to positively transform the fortunes of the people.
