A former Governor of Rivers State, Chief Rotimi Amaechi has commended Governor Alex Otti for his Infrastructural revolution across the state especially in the areas of road construction and reconstruction.
Chief Amaechi who made the commendation at Aba during a state wide-tour of road projects started and completed by Governor Otti by a delegation of University of Portharcourt Alumni of 80’s set, described the governor’s giant strides in improving road infrastructure across the state especially the quality of the roads as incredible.
The former Governor who is also a former Minister of Transport, described the newly commissioned 46.36km Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Akara-Alayi-Abiriba road and the total reconstruction of the abandoned Portharcourt road Aba among other landmark achievements by Governor Otti in less than two years in office as an example of quality leadership, and enjoined Abians to reciprocate the governor’s kind gestures by remaining supportive to his administration.
On the ongoing reconstruction of Omenuko bridge, the former Rivers State Governor praised Governor Alex Otti for his kind intervention on the road despite being a federal road and wondered why previous administrations overlooked the Omenuko bridge and the entire stretch of the road which has remained a death trap to commuters.
In his speech, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, while describing Governor Alex Otti as a man of integrity, a visionary leader and a prudent manager of resources also urged Abians to continue to give the Governor all the necessary support and encouragement to enable him continue to deliver more democracy dividends to Abians.
Pastor Ajagba disclosed that the Governor’s outstanding achievements within a short time in office speaks volume of better things to come and assured Abians that Governor Otti is solely committed and focused on redefining governance and improving the standard of living of the citizens.
Baring their minds, some members of the Uniport alumni group including a retired Diplomat from Liberia, Mr Earnest Rowland-Douglas, Mr Duke Odinde and Dr Chidi Lelu while describing Governor Alex Otti as a man of intellect, applauded his giant strides across the state.
Our Correspondent reports that the Mayor of Isuikwuato LGA, Hon. Chinedu Ekeke, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr. Izuchukwu Onwughara among other top government officials joined in the project tour.
