The Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba says the state government is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to revitalize and improve the standard of education across the state.

Pastor Ajagba who stated this in Government House Umuahia, when he received the new Executive of Anglican Grammar School, Nbawsi Old Boys’ Association who paid him a courtesy visit, explained that the administration of Governor Alex Otti attaches great importance to education hence its decision to allocate twenty percent of the 2025 budget to the education.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor while describing his Alma Mater, the Anglican Grammar School Nbawsi as a great citadel of learning that has continued to produce notable personalities, however frowned at the level of Infrastructural decays and lack of basic facilities in the school which affects the students negatively.

He reiterated Governor Otti’s commitment to upscaling the standard of education in the state and called on religious organisations that lack adequate resources to run schools under their care to take urgent steps to return such schools to the government in order not to compromise the quality of education in the state.

He further used the opportunity to congratulate the new executive of the Old Boys’ Association on their successful emergence and stressed the need for them to come together and partner government to improve the standard of facilities in their Alma Mater.

In their speeches, the President General, Anglican Grammar School Nbawsi Old Boys’ Association, Chief Paul Emelogu and the Secretary General of the Association, Mr Onyeudo Onyekwere commended Governor Alex Otti for his transformational strides in all facets of the state economy especially in the education sector.

They disclosed that the purpose of their visit is to introduce themselves as the new executive of the Old Boys’ Association of the school to the Chief of Staff to the Governor and to also seek for collaboration with the state government to improve the standard of facilities in the alma mater.
