Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has directed the Commissioners for Works and Youth and Sports Development to immediately take a step towards developing the Sam Ihesiulor Township Stadium Okpuala Ngwa to a full Stadium.

Governor Otti who was speaking at the Grand Civic Reception and Appreciation Ceremony organized in his honour by the people of Isiala Ngwa North and Isiala Ngwa South LGA’s at the Sam Ihesiulor Township Stadium Okpuala Ngwa, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, appreciated the people for the honour done him.
The Governor while noting that work is seriously ongoing at the Abia Airport Site, announced that compensation have been fully paid to all genuine Land Owners at the Abia Airport in Nsulu, describing the project as a full fledged development hub, aimed at providing long-term economic benefits.
The State Chief Executive who also announced a December deadline for the completion of the Mgboko–Ntigha Road Project, stressed his administration’s commitment to delivering infrastructure across all zones.
In their speeches, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Senator Darlington Nwokocha and Co-Chairman, Chief Ginger Onwusibe noted that their people are attesting to the glaring fact that Governor Alex Otti has done well and should make himself available for re-election and appealed to the Governor to help complete the Sam Ihesiulor Stadium, Okpuala Ngwa.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Sir Obinna Anaba while congratulating Governor Otti for his giant strides in 2 years, added that the event is to thank the Governor for making the people of Isiala Ngwa and the whole of Abia proud.
Speaking, the representative of the Organized Private Sector, Sir Cyril Ishmael said Governor Otti has through many policies including the proposed Abia Airport, increased Investors confidence in the State, while the National president of Ngwa National Association USA NNAUSA, Dr Ugochukwu Agu, thanked Governor Otti for his giant strides and appealed that he consider reconstructing the Umuaduru-Osisioma Ngwa road leading to NNAUSA Complex.
In their speeches on behalf of the people of Isiala Ngwa North and Isiala Ngwa South LGA’s, Chief Ncheta Omerekpe and Dr Gershon Amuta noted that their people have not seen it this way since the return of democracy in 1999 and assured Governor Otti that the people of Isiala Ngwa will speak with one voice in the 2027 elections.
Making presentation on behalf of the Appointees of Governor Alex Otti from Isiala Ngwa North and Isiala Ngwa South LGA’s, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Uzor Nwachukwu said that they are blessed under the administration being host of ₦1.3 Billion proposed Medical City, the Abia Airport and host of other Projects.
Our Correspondent reports that the event featured the formal reception of returning Political Stakeholders from other Parties, including the Member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, Chief Ugochukwu Collins Iheonunekwu, former Members of the PDP and Accord Party, as well as Members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers who declared for the Labour Party during the event as well as a vote of confidence passed on the Governor by the people of Isiala Ngwa.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Members of the state Executive Council, Government appointees, stakeholders in Isiala Ngwa North and Isiala Ngwa South LGA’s, the Speaker and members of the state House of Assembly among other notable personalities graced the occasion.
