The Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba has restated the state government’s commitment to restoring the glory of Aba and repositioning the city as a commercial and industrial hub.

Pastor Ajagba who stated this at Government House Umuahia when he received a delegation of the Ariaria International Market Traders, Elders and Stakeholders Forum Aba, stressed the need for all hands to be on deck in making Aba, the economic nerve centre of the state a reference point for excellence.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor while describing Ariaria as a landmark project that transcends ethnic and religious barriers, disclosed that the present administration in the state under Governor Alex Otti is fully focused and committed to ensuring that Ariaria takes its pride of place as the foremost international market in West Africa.
He thanked members of the forum for their quantum of support towards the present administration in the state and assured that government will monitor the contractors and those charged with the responsibility of remodeling the market to ensure that the intentions of government are not compromised.
In their speeches, the Chairman, Ariaria International Market Traders, Elders and Stakeholders Forum Aba, Chief Celestine Okafor and the Secretary of the forum, Mr Paulinus Obika while describing Governor Alex Otti as a visionary leader, also commended him for the good work he is doing in the state especially in the area of Infrastructural development.
They further used the opportunity to appeal to the state government to include their members in the committee that has been set-up to enable them monitor the remodeling activities effectively as well as pledged their unalloyed support to the Governor Otti led administration in the state.
Our correspondent reports that the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade, Commerce and Industry, Chief Nwaka Inem among other top government officials were present during the visit.
