Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti says he is aware of Security breaches around Umunneochi and some parts of Isuikwuato LGA’s of the State and has reactivated responsive security measures to nipping in the bud the ugly development.

Governor Otti who was speaking during his Monthly Media Parley with Journalists tagged; “Governor Otti Speaks to Abians” said he will not allow any act of criminality in any part of the State as his administration still has zero tolerance for fraud, bank robbery, kidnapping and any other sort of crime.
He cited an example where a Commissioner in the state was attacked by unknown Gunmen along the stretch of Umunneochi road and vowed to keep prioritizing the security of lives and properties.
On Health, Governor noted that his administration has prioritized Health Care delivery as some out of the 200 Primary Health Centers undergoing renovation, retrofitting and reequipping have been completed and commissioned while the Secondary health care services including General Hospital Okeikpe, that of Umunneochi, Arochukwu, Okpuala Ngwa among others are at various stages of renovation and upgrade.
While noting the existence of 948 Primary Health Centers across the State, Governor Otti said that Communities who did not benefit in current 200 Primary Health Centers undergoing upgrade will benefit in the subsequent phases as his target is to retrofit at least one PHC across the Wards in the State.
The Governor also disclosed that the second phase of renovation work has commenced at the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba with state of the art facilities while the Abia Medical City Project will soon be flagged off as creation of access route and installation of Street Lights have been completed.
On education, Governor Otti said that the 5,394 Teachers recently recruited are currently going through orientation and would be deployed afterwards while the recruitment of additional four thousand Teachers will commence afterwards as his administration targets the recruitment of over nine thousand Teachers across the State.
On the poor state of the Library, the Governor announced that his administration is setting up a Library Board that will see to the revival of the State Library and establish modern Libraries in the 17 LGAS of the State.
