Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has described Abia North Senatorial District as key to the Agro -Transformation program of his administration aimed at achieving food security, job creation and improved foreign exchange earnings.
Governor Otti who stated this at the Practicing School Uzuakoli Bende LGA, during the Inauguration of the Executives of the Bende LGA Chapter of Abia Arise and reception of the member representing Bende North state Constituency, Mr Nnamdi Ibekwe and his supporters and other members of the PDP into the Labour party including Dr Ezeala of the APC.
Governor Otti also used the occasion to welcome the YPP Deputy Governorship Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Dr Chima Anyaso and his teeming supporters into the “Abia Arise Group” his political structure, encouraged all citizens to align with the group’s ideals to participate at the grassroot level.
The Governor described the Abia Arise Movement as more than a political platform but a non-partisan vehicle for grassroots mobilisation and leadership projection.
Governor Otti while noting that his administration has created opportunities for growth and self -actualization for millions of Abians through unprecedented investments in infrastructure, social services among others, also noted that his government has demonstrated that governance is all about service and responding promptly to public concerns.
He disclosed that his overarching vision is to close the infrastructure gap between the communities around Abia North and the urban center by investing in projects that take out the push factor rural-urban migration.
The Governor who had earlier commissioned the newly reconstructed retrofitted and re-equipped Ngwu Uzuakoli Primary Health Center, disclosed that he had in the past ten days commissioned 23 new projects, including 18 road networks and 5 primary healthcare centres, across various local government areas.
In his remarks, the former YPP Deputy Governorship Candidate in the 2023 General election and stakeholder in Bende LGA, Dr Chima Anyaso while welcoming Governor Alex Otti to Bende LGA, described the massive turn out of Ndi Bende at the ceremony as a confirmation of the purposeful and people-oriented leadership of the Governor which has rekindled hope of the ordinary man and declared his full support as a partner in the rebuilding agenda of Governor Alex Otti’s administration.
Dr Anyaso While announcing his membership of The Abia Arise Group, said he had resigned his membership of YPP and declared Governor Otti as his sole candidate and that of his foundation for the 2027 Governorship election and announced the donation of 2- branded Coaster buses for the Bende chapter of Abia Arise Group.
In their speeches, some appointees of the Governor from Bende LGA including his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Ferdinand Ekeoma, his Abuja Liason Officer, Chief Chinasa Frank among others noted that Governor Alex Otti has been intentional in all he does as he has within two years in office redefined Governance across the state, assuring him of the support of the Bende people at all times.
In their remarks, the state Coordinator Abia Arise, Mazi Nkem Okoro and that of Bende LGA, Mr Onyedikachi Iroegbu while describing Abia Arise as a movement which emanated from the yearnings of Abians for purposeful leadership, noted that the movement is visible across the state and will continue to operate in line with the vision and mission statement of the founder and Governor, Dr Alex Otti.
