Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti will flag-off one of his flagship Projects, the Abia Medical City Project with the capacity to offer World Class Healthcare Services to the World on the tenth of next month.

Abia Govt to Re-introduce Sanitary Inspectors

The State Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu who disclosed this while briefing Journalists on the outcome of this Week’s Executive Council Meeting, said that the Medical City Project when completed will transform the State into a Major hub for advanced Medical Services.

Prince Kanu explained that the Medical City occupying a land space of about two hundred hectares with a one capacity bed hospital, state-of-the-art facilities, facilities for Medical Tourism, a five star Hotel and accommodations for both Patients and their Families is expected to be delivered in twenty-four months.

He disclosed that eleven Rural roads and three Agro Logistics hubs cutting across the seventeen Local Government Areas of the State will soon be flagged off by Governor Alex Otti under the World Bank Assisted Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, RAMP.

According to the Commissioner that the State Government has already paid its four point two Billion Naira Counterpart Funding, pointing out that it underscores, Governor Alex Otti’s commitment to statewide infrastructure development of Rural Communities.

The Information Commissioner equally announced that the ceremony marking the formal reintroduction of Sanitary Inspectors known as “Ndi Oleala” is another step towards deepening the success already recorded in the area of environmental cleanliness will hold on Thursday this week and to be replicated across the seventeen Local Government Areas of the State.
