The remains of Lady Stella Chinweoke Kelechi Ukaumunna have been laid to rest at her husband’s countryhome, Oriaku Na Adiele kindred Owerrinta, Ugwu Mbutu Autonomous Community in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area.
In his condolence message during a funeral service conducted by the St. Peter’s Cathedral, Owerrinta, Governor Alex Otti noted that the death of Lady Ukaumunna is a great loss to the family, the people of Isiala Ngwa South LGA, the state and all she inspired by her dogged and visionary lifestyle.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, while describing the deceased as a devoted wife to her husband, a warm and protective mother to her children, an amazon of excellence, a seasoned health professional and a lawyer, disclosed that she will be greatly missed by her friends and colleagues for her exemplary leadership and selfless services to humanity.
He further encouraged the Ukaumunna family especially the Chief Mourner, Sir Kelechi Ukaumunna to find solace in the fact that she left an inspiring legacy of hardwork and excellence, affected her generation positively and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
In a homily titled, “The righteous shall always be remembered,” the Anglican Bishop of Aba, the Rt. Rev. Christian Ugwuzor, reminded all that one is only remembered by their good works while alive hence the need for them to live a life of impact.
In a tribute, the first son of the deceased, Mr Ugonna Ukaumunna, while describing his late mother as an embodiment of wisdom, a role model and a virtuous woman, thanked Governor Alex Otti, the church and all that came to identify with his family during their moment of grief.
Aged 46, Late Lady Stella Chinweoke Kelechi Ukaumunna who until her death was a nurse at the Abia State University Teaching Hospital Aba and a legal practitioner is survived by her husband, children and a host of other relatives.
The funeral service which featured prayers for the bereaved family, condolence messages also attracted the presence of the wife of the immediate past Governor of Abia state, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, the Member representing Isiala Ngwa North and Isiala Ngwa South Federal Constituency, Chief Ginger Onwusibe, Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ambassador Innocent Uruakpa, Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotions and Public Private Partnership, Chief Green Amankwe, Special Assistant to the Governor on Labour Matters, Sir Godson Anucha, Special Assistant to the Governor on Cooperative Society, Hon. Ismael Onuoha, the clergy, legal practitioners among other distinguished personalities.
