CAVEAT EMPTOR/VENDITOR
Our attention has been drawn to a fallacious, divisionary, misleading and crisis prone public notice in one of the National dailies, by a group that calls itself Concerned Members and stakeholders, Umuenyere Alayi Dev. Union.

Obviously, it is ill intended and deliberately aimed at perpetuating illegality, promoting corruption and illegal sale of Umuenyere land, we hereby wish to put the records straight for proper guidance of the general public.

For the avoidance of doubts, Umuenyere Alayi is an organized and peaceful Community, with well constituted and recognized Traditional institution and a Development Union that superintends over her administrative functions induding, but not limited to the management, administration, and control of the communal Lands.
The Community encompasses – through Nde Aguaso to Agbalato, and constitutionally sub divided into three blocks of Agbalato, Amaozara, and Obuofia clans, for administrative convenience/purpose.
It’s an absurdity and grave disturtion of historical facts, for a few misguided individuals from one of the blocks to arrogate and or claim, the phrase “ABORIGINES” and “INDIGENOUS” when indeed it is not so.
It is more worrisome to observe that the sponsors of the unwholesome campaign/clan are all non-Community actors with very little or no stake, who lacks the mandate, locus, and or authority to place a caveat. One wonders what their mission is, if not to generate confusion, division and unnecessary tension in the community.
Furthermore, let it be known that a subsisting High Court judgement Suit No HIG/11/2018 on the management, administration, and control of Umuenyere Ajayi communal Lands, is in Vogue and only the Umuenyere Alayi Dev. Union; is bestowed with the mandate to execute such functions/duties.
We therefore, advise the general public to ignore whatever caveat that was purportedly put up by these strange mark fellows as they lack the capacity to do so.
Any Land business or transactions done at Ozara /Osula, or within the entire Umuenyere communal Land territory, outside of Umuenyere Alayi, Development Union, the only legitimate authority vested with the powers to handle such matters for the community amounts to Nullity.
All should be properly guided.
Signed
