The remains of the Late Permanent Secretary of Government House Umuahia, Chief Ugochukwu Kingston Elefue have been laid to rest at his Ezi Ibenta Mgbaja, Ibe Uzo, Amawom Oboro in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State.
In his condolence message during a funeral service conducted by the Living Faith Church at Amawom Central School in Ikwuano LGA, Governor Alex Otti identified death as a necessary end for all mortals irrespective of age, gender and status.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba while describing the deceased as more than just a colleague, a pillar of integrity, dedication and excellence in public service, disclosed that his unwavering commitment to the ideas of good governance, meticulous attention to detail, and steadfast loyalty to the progress of the state were truly exemplary.
The State Chief Executive further urged the bereaved family especially the wife of the deceased, Deaconess Glory Ugo-Elefue, to find comfort in the cherished memories her late husband shared, the legacy of integrity he left behind and the knowledge that his life had a profound impact on the people and the state at large.
In a homily titled, “Preparing for the Ultimate Appointment,” the District/Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church, Market Branch Umuahia, Pastor Collins Eke-Anyanwu, stressed the need for all to be ready at all times and live righteously with eternity in view.
In their speeches, the Member representing Ikwuano State Constituency, Mr Boniface Isienyi, the Mayor of Ikwuano LGA, Dr Anthony Nwaubani, the Commissioner for Transport, Dr Chimezie Ukaegbu, the former Member that represented Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Chief Sam Onuigbo represented by Mr Osondu among others, described Chief Elefue as a pillar of strength, a source of comfort and a gracious example of consummate leader and prayed God to comfort the Elefue family and all affected by the loss.
Also speaking, the Head of Service, Mr Benson Ojeikere, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Mrs Clara Dim who spoke on behalf of the Body of Permanent Secretaries and the Director of Finance, Mrs Onyedikachi Ogwo who spoke on behalf of the Management and Staff of Government House Umuahia, described their departed colleague and Boss as an embodiment of wisdom, hardworking, committed and focused gentlemen who distinguished himself in any given assignment.
In a tribute, the daughter of the deceased, Miss Adaeze Ugo-Elefue, described her late father as a consummate family man who dedicated his life to the service of God and humanity and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Aged 58, Late Chief Ugochukwu Kingston Elefue who until his death was the Permanent Secretary of Government House Umuahia is survived by wife, children and a host of other relatives.
The funeral which featured prayers for the bereaved family, condolence messages also attracted the presence of the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Uwaoma Ukandu, Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Commerce, Chief Nwaka Inem, Body of Permanent Secretaries, Management and Staff of Government House Umuahia among other distinguished personalities.
