Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has condoled with the Ngwakwe family of Oza, Umuebukwu in Ugwunagbo LGA over the death of their father, Prof. Sir Ezenwa Chinedu Ngwakwe.
In his condolence message during a funeral service conducted by St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Oza Umuebukwu in Ugwunagbo LGA, Governor Otti noted that death is an inevitable reality that awaits all humanity.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, while describing Prof. Ngwakwe’s death as a huge loss to the family, Abia State University community and all he impacted positively, disclosed that even in the deceased final days, he remained a consummate family man, seasoned academic and mentor, legal icon and a distinguished professor.
The State Chief Executive encouraged the bereaved family to be comforted by the fact that their late father lived a purposeful and inspiring life, left incredible memories of him in the hearts of many, and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
In a homily titled, “Where are you,” Venerable Zephaniah Wankpa, explained that nothing happens in life without God’s approval and
encouraged the Ngwakwe family especially the wife, Dr Mrs Patricia Ngwakwe to be strong and ensure they continue to uphold the sterling qualities the late legal luminary left behind.
In a tribute, the daughter of the deceased, Miss Chikanma Ngwakwe, described her late father as a loving, caring and God fearing man who distinguished himself both in academics and in the legal profession.
Aged 60, Late Prof. Ezenwa Chinedu Ngwakwe who was the former Dean, Faculty of Law ABSU, is survived by wife, children, grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
The funeral which featured prayers for the bereaved family, condolence messages also attracted the presence of the Mayor of Ugwunagbo LGA, Hon. Iheanacho Wagbara, Vice Chancellor of Abia State University Uturu, Prof. Okeudo Ndukwe represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Prof. J.U. Ogbonna, Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotions, Public and Private Partnership, High Chief Green Amakwe, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, Dr George Chidozie, CEO of Abia State Hospital Management Board, Dr Odochi Azubuike, the academia, legal luminaries, captains of industry among other distinguished personalities.
