The Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, has identified pride, disrespect for others, living a fake life, and lack of vision and purpose in life as traits that hinder a servant leader from being great.
Pastor Ajagba, who disclosed this at Government College Umuahia as a Guest Speaker at the ongoing Abia Leadership Academy (ALA), organized by the State Government for Abia youths, explained that true leaders must be humble, lead by serving others, prioritize the needs of others, focus on the growth and well-being of others, inspire people, and create a positive circle of motivation and commitment.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, while speaking on the topic “The Servant Leader Values and Outlook,” stressed the need for the participants to emulate the sterling qualities of some transformational leaders, including Jesus Christ, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama, and Governor Alex Otti, who despite daunting challenges, remained focused and committed to living a life of great impact and transforming the lives of the people positively.
He further harped on the need for them to set out their goals in life, embrace humility, learn to ask questions, improve themselves, renew their minds constantly, build quality friendships, develop their leadership abilities and capacity, and avoid limiting themselves in order to become great leaders.
In their speeches, the Lead Consultant and Camp Commandant of the Abia Leadership Academy (ALA), Mr. Johnson Abbaly, and the Care Facilitator and Head of Administration of ALA, Prof. Adanma Ohia, disclosed that the Abia Leadership Academy, launched by Governor Alex Otti’s administration, is a youth-centered initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing the next generation of leaders across the State.
They explained that the program is grounded in a forward-looking ambition to raise young, civic-minded individuals who will contribute positively to society with responsibility, innovation, and ethical leadership, and also thanked Pastor Ajagba for his inspiring words to the participants.
The program, which featured question-and-answer sessions and the presentation of three different books written by Pastor Caleb Ajagba to the participants, also attracted the presence of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communication, Mr. Dodoh Okafor.
