Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has inaugurated Dr. Friday Kalu Ohuche, a seasoned development economist as the Chief Economic Adviser to the State alongside members of the Abia Economic Management Team.

The Chief Economic Adviser of the state, Dr Ohuche a seasoned development economist who specializes in the institution of macroeconomics and growth is also an international economic governance professional with expertise in public financial management, macro fiscal policy analysis and management.

Gov. Otti Inaugurates Chief Economic Adviser, Abia Economic Management Team to Drive State’s Growth

Inaugurating the team shortly after the State Executive Council meeting at Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, the Governor, Dr Alex Otti charged the Chief Economic Adviser and members of the Abia economic management team to strive to bring their wealth of experience to bear in managing and consolidating the gains of his administration in the past two years.

The Governor said constituting the economic team now is not an accident but a deliberate action of fixing a few things first before getting into the economic management, adding that the team has the overall mandate of ensuring the advancement of the state’s economy.

He thanked members of the team for accepting to serve the state and expressed confidence that they would contribute immensely to the success of his administration.

Responding on behalf of members of the Abia economic management team, the Chief Economic Adviser to the state, Dr Friday Ohuche, promised to work closely with his team to achieve the mandate of the Governor for the economic growth and advancement of the state.

The Abia State Economic Management Team headed by the Governor, Dr Alex Otti has the Commissioner for Finance, Dr Uwaoma Ukandu, Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Kingsley Anosike, Commissioner for Industry and SMEs, Mr Mike Akpara, Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr Chibueze Nwokocha, Chairman Board of Internal Revenue Service, Professor Udochukwu Ogbonna, the Chief Economic Adviser of the state, Dr Friday Ohuche as members.

Others include, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Internally Generated Revenue, Elder Emma Okpechi, the DG and CEO, Office of Public-Private Partnership and Investment Promotion, Mr Chinedum Chijioke, Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Planning, Chief Eric Egwuibe, the State Accountant General, Mrs Njum Onyemelam, the DG, Ministry of Finance Incorporated, Principal Secretary and Chief Strategy Officer to the Governor, Mr Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu and the Technical Assistant to the Governor, Mr Charles Egeonye.
