Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has called on Ngwa indigenes in the diaspora to deepen their partnership with his administration in driving a new era of development in the state.

Governor Otti, who made the call during the Ngwa Convention held at the Hyatt Regency The Arch, St. Louis, Missouri, USA, urged the diaspora community to see themselves as key partners in transforming Abia into a hub of prosperity.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, disclosed that their expertise, resources, and commitment to their roots are critical in sustaining ongoing reforms, adding that his administration’s reforms are not just economic but a restoration of dignity and confidence among Abians.

The State Chief Executive disclosed that in Abia today, there is a strong belief amongst many that his administration is not just committed to improving their material reality, but is also determined to harness the human and material resources of the state in ways that guarantee steady jobs for the youth population as well as create prosperity for all through productive activities.

He further highlighted some of the visible strides his administration has made in the areas of infrastructure, healthcare, education, security, and industrialization over the past 27 months, and thanked Ndi Ngwa in the diaspora for their sustained support towards his administration in rebranding Abia at the global stage.

Our correspondent reports that the Ngwa Convention, which drew participants from across the United States and beyond, featured cultural displays, competition in speaking of Igbo language by Ngwa youths, awards to deserving members and fund raising.
