Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, says he is at the forefront of securing the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Gov. Otti Confirms Ongoing Efforts with South East Governors for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

Governor Otti who stated this while responding to questions during the September edition of his Monthly Media Parley, tagged, “Governor Otti Speaks,” held at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Umuahia, said as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Governor, it’s natural for him to champion the efforts.

The Governor revealed that the matter is being pursued by him alongside Governors of the South East region.

The State Chief Executive disclosed that engagements have been ongoing at various levels to facilitate Kanu’s release and explained that the details of the discussions would not be made public in order not to jeopardise the process.

He noted that aside from the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the South East Governors are united in pursuing regional integration, security and have been mounting pressure for the completion of rail lines along the south East corridor.
