Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has called on parents and church leaders to take deliberate steps towards restoring moral discipline and godly values in families.

Governor Otti who made the call at the St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Amaku Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South LGA, during the first session of the seventh synod of the church with the theme, “The Role of Parents in Family Discipleship,” emphasized the need for parents to be intentional in raising children who fear God, respect authority and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, disclosed that his administration remains committed to fostering an environment where family welfare, youth development and education continue to thrive, in line with his administration’s people-centered agenda, also reaffirmed his resolve to continue promoting policies that strengthen family and community values while building a society anchored on justice, integrity and peace.

The State Chief Executive further commended the Anglican Church for its unwavering commitment to moral rebirth and spiritual renewal, as well as for its prayers and partnership with his administration.

In his remarks, the Archbishop of Aba Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Isiala Ngwa South, the Most Rev. Isaac Nwaobia, commended Governor Otti for his transparent and visionary leadership, describing his administration’s performance as a reflection of godly stewardship.

Delivering his presidential address, the Bishop of Isiala Ngwa Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Temple Nwaogu, while noting that the Synod’s theme serves as a divine reminder for families to embrace discipleship and moral training as tools for building a stronger society, expressed gratitude to the Governor for gracing the Synod and for his dedication to the service of humanity.

The synod which featured goodwill messages also attracted the presence of notable personalities including the council of Bishops, Knights among other distinguished personalities.
