ABIA- Governor Alex Otti, has commended the people of Abam Onyerubi Atitakpo for preserving their rich cultural heritage.
Governor Otti who was speaking at the 2025 Annual Iri-ji Oha Abam Ceremony held at Abam High School Ozu Abam, in Arochukwu LGA, said people without culture are people without identity.

The Governor represented by the Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Mr Mathew Ekwuribe, encouraged Abam Onyerubi People to continue to protect and preserve their culture and made it known that the state government is revamping all heritage sites in the state including the one in Abam Onyerubi.
In his speech, the Secretary to the state government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, who enumerated the achievements of Governor Alex Otti in Abam Onyerubi to including reconstruction of the Omenuko bridge, Abam Ring road and the Ozu Abam – Ndi Okereke Arochukwu road, also called for continued peace in Abam Onyerubi.
In their remarks, the Member Representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, the Member Representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Chief Uchenna Okoro, a Labour Party Chieftain, Chief David Onuoha and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Chief Acho Obioma, thanked Abam people for coming together to celebrate their culture, assuring them of a better days ahead.
Contributing, a prominent son of Abam Onyerubi and GM, Abia Newspapers and Publishing Corporation, Chief Jones Nnanna Ike, the Acting President General, Abam Development Union, Chief Okere Kalu, the Secretary General, Chief Orji Kalu Okorie and the Chairman Planning Committee, Chief Jessica Ugbor Kalu, described the Iri Ji Oha Abam festival as a symbol of unity and progress in Abam Onyerubi which attracted people from other clans.
Expressing his gratitude, the Former President General, Abam Development Union, Dr John Egbuta, thanked Governor Alex Otti for his love for Abam people and all who came to celebrate with them.

The ceremony which attracted the presence of top government officials, Traditional Rulers, friends and well-wishers of Abam Onyerubi clan also featured the traditional cutting and eating of Yam and cultural displays by various cultural groups.
