ABIA – Governor Alex Otti has commended the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) for its unwavering commitment to promoting peace, unity, and moral leadership across the nation.
Governor Otti who gave the commendation at the Rhema Chapel, Methodist Theological Institute, Mission Hill, Umuahia, during the installation of Rev. T.E.O Ikpeoha as the State chairman and the Maiden Inauguration of newly elected State/LGA Executive of CCN, described the council as a strong moral compass and unifying voice for the Body of Christ.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, noted that CCN’s consistent advocacy for justice, truth and social responsibility aligns with his administration’s vision of building a new Abia founded on integrity and compassion, also emphasized the need for continued collaboration between the government and faith-based organizations in driving moral transformation and community development.
The State Chief Executive also paid glowing tribute to the National leadership of the Christian Council of Nigeria for their visionary leadership, which he said, has strengthened unity among Christian denominations and enhanced the Council’s voice in national affairs.

He further congratulated the newly installed state chairman of CCN, The Rev. T.O.E Ikpeoha and his executive on their emergence, describing it as both a call to service and a divine assignment, and urged them to build on the achievements of their predecessors and to work with other church and community leaders to foster moral reawakening and social development across the state.
In his speech, the National President of the Christian Council of Nigeria, The Most Rev. David Onuoha, while commending Governor Otti for his exemplary leadership and commitment to good governance, transparency and people-centered development, described CCN as a leading ecumenical body committed to fostering unity, promoting social justice and upholding Christian values across the nation.
Performing the inauguration, the Council’s South East Zonal Chairman, Dr Levi Monanu, reminded the new state chairman, Rev. Ikpeoha that his mission is to work towards the unity in one faith, common witness and Eucharistic fellowship of churches across the nation and to facilitate and build the capacity of Member-Churches for a sustained Christian lifestyle, effective Christian witness and the God-ward orientation of the society.
In their goodwill messages, the CCN Zonal Vice Chairman, Most Rev. Ibeawuchi Agwu, the Zonal Secretary, Rev. Nlemchukwu Chibuzor and the guest speaker, The Rt. Rev. Chinedu Okoroafor, while congratulating Rev. Ikpeoha and his executive on their successful inauguration, also enjoined them to stand as a voice for the Church, advocating for peace, equity and spiritual growth across the state.
Responding, the newly installed State Chairman of the Christian Council of Nigeria, The Rev. T.O.E Ikpeoha, pledged to uphold the core values of the Council and to work tirelessly in uniting the Christian community across denominations for the spiritual and moral advancement of the state.
The program which featured goodwill messages, prayers for the state and nation, decoration of Rev. Ikpeoha and a keynote address delivered by the Methodist Archbishop of Umuahia, Most Rev Dr Chibuzor Opoko, also attracted the presence of Bishops among other distinguished personalities.
